Dreams Resort in Cancun is an impressive place to go for your next all-inclusive getaway. You will be papered in style. As soon as you pull up to the resort you are greeted with a smile and with a cool towel. The first thing you notice is the ocean view from the large covered patio that is also the social gathering place in the evenings that hold nightly events. This entertainment spot is great during the day to sit in the shade. There are multiple bars on the patio and waitstaff that are designated to that area. At night there are concerts and shows put on here. It is a beautiful backdrop for pictures with a gorgeous view of the palm trees and the beach. It has a cool breeze blowing through it and immediately the salty air hits your senses. Inside upon check-in you are handed a glass of champagne to celebrate your arrival. Upon entering my room there was a desert tray that said happy birthday on it. I thought that was a very nice touch. Our Cancun trip was celebrating my birthday and my brother’s beach wedding. In addition to the entertainment, they also have different activities. When we were they had vendor night. Local vendors came in and displayed their merchandise for sale. It was like a street fair in the resort. There were also different food stations set up that offered a wide array of cuisine that was included in your stay so you could eat as much as you wanted.

Dinner Reservations
The first thing I would do upon arrival is get all the planning done before your trip so as soon as you get there all you must do is make dinner reservations. Dinner reservations book out quickly, especially for the Hibachi restaurant. When we went, we had to eat dinner at 9:15 pm because it was the only time slot left. Some of the restaurants on site are only open on certain days as well. Once you get there, I would get a current schedule and decide. Then I would book the weeks’ worth of reservations first thing to ensure I got the days and times I wanted.

Excursions
Another tip is then to head over to the excursion table. If you did not already book this in advance. My advice is to talk to your travel planner and book these trips before you get there.
The first reason is that these can book up quickly and you might miss out on being able to go on the excursion you want if you wait until the last minute.
The second reason is sometimes there is only one or two people there that can book and you are wasting your vacation time standing in line to book something that may be sold out once you get there.
The third reason is it’s already paid for if you book before you go so you won’t have anything extra on the credit card bill when you get home because you have already prepaid.
Talum
TALUM
I highly recommend the tour to go to Talum. The bus picks you up at the front door of the resort and brings you back. You travel in an air-conditioned vehicle where our driver provided snacks and water. On the way, we picked up our tour guide Anna. She was so passionate about the culture of Talum. Her passion and excitement made the ride there and back exciting.
The trip was very well organized and everything you could think of was well planned out in advance and taken care of. Once in Talum our tour guide took us to the main gift shop and gave us a minute to walk around. Then we walked to the temples. We had to bend over a little to get through the short entryway but once inside our jaws dropped at how magnificent this place was. Anna explained the significance of the area and of each building. She brought the history to life as she walked us through the “city”. Then after the tour, she gave us free time to walk around and take pictures. She even took the time to take a selfie with each group member in Infront of the temple. On the way back we could stop at the shops and we dined at a local café in the market.
On the way back to the tour bus the driver handed us cool towels and refreshments for the ride home. While Anna explained to us the areas we were passing through. I am so glad we went. After all, how many tour guides do you remember their names after the tour? It was such a memorable experience so rich in history and culture. It is an experience that you can not fully appreciate until you do it.
Professional Beach Photographs
There is also a professional photographer on site that will take your pictures at different locations on the resort. Head there next and get it booked.
The photographer does spend a decent amount of time with you and takes multiple shots for you to choose from. Keep this in mind if you would like to book this service and make sure you pack in advance what outfits you would like to wear. You will be emailed a link to the photographs that you purchased so you can have access to print or email them.
Decompress at the Spa
A short walk from the photographer’s station is the Spa. This is a full-service spa that offers all the luxuries. There is a hydrotherapy treatment where you go through a variety of different stations in the pools and hot tubs meant to rejuvenate you. Then you are escorted off to a massage. The atmosphere is cave-like where the pools are and you feel like you are in nature as you go through each experience. The nice thing is that when we booked our experience, we were the only ones in the cave part so the relaxation was all to ourselves. It felt more luxurious not sharing this time waiting for the next person to be done so you could move to that station. After the hydrotherapy, it was time for an 80-minute couple’s massage. When you leave you can barely walk because you are so relaxed and it takes too much effort to move. The spa also offers facials and nail services. In the lobby, you can sit in a chair while you get a fish pedicure if you so choose. This was the one place where I spent a lot of time.
Relax at the pool
Waterslide, zipline, pool area
Once your bags are unpacked head down to one of the multiple large pools where you can dip your feet in while getting a refreshment at the pool bar. The pools overlook the beach. The one pool area also has a waterslide. If you have children, they can climb on the rock wall or go zip-lining right next to the pool area. After relaxing at the pool, you can then go over and catch some sun while floating along the lazy river. The lazy river is also partially covered.
After you have worked up an appetite there is a little grill that serves burgers, chicken, and fries.
There is also a kids/teen hang-out area where they can go and enjoy playing video games. In the center are board games, books, and a foosball table as well.
Spend the evening at the beach
The resort sits in a mangrove. There are two other resorts close by but mostly the resort is secluded. This makes for a quite relaxing experience. There are lounge chairs set up on the beach where you can enjoy the breeze coming off the ocean and see cruise ships in the distance that are coming into port. The resort does have maintenance on the beach from morning to night combing it. Every morning they put a new message in the sand. Due to being on the mangroves, the ocean is not swimmable so you will get your water time at the pool. However, you can still enjoy viewing the beautiful ocean waves and listening to the sounds. There are not a lot of people on the beach so it is a great place to sit under the tiki shade and read a book. There is a grill and bar close by if you get hungry and periodically there is a waitstaff that comes by the beach to see if you need anything. If you do want to venture into the water, they do have small boats that you can rent.

Get Engaged
There is a structure on the beach that is a good place for proposals. The hotel has a runway lit up with lights going to the structure. There is also someone that plays an instrument and a photographer to capture your special moment as you propose on the beach with the ocean behind you.
Get Married
This resort has three different locations that you can choose from to say I do. Each one has a spectacular view of the beach behind you and will look great for all your special pictures. They have many different packages to choose from to customize your special day. They even offer a mariachi band to sing and play for you. Everything is taken care of for your day. The day before you have a dress rehearsal and a special gathering on the rooftop by the seafood restaurant. There is a place by the pond for refreshments that is reserved for your guests to be while you take pictures. Afterward, you can have a reception on a platform by the beach. There are many different packages to choose from to make your day special. You can even get a package to go before you get married to check out the resort and your accommodations. Packages can include up to 100 guests so you are not limited on who can celebrate your big day with you.
Already Married You Can Still Celebrate on the Beach
You did not miss out. You can still celebrate on the beach. There are honeymoon packages available to you. Other packages include renewing your vows and anniversary getaways. Currently, you can get a complimentary renewing your vows package with a qualifying stay. It is best to check with your travel planner for all the details as promotions do change.
